I love food blogs. Of my 7 bookmarked websites, 3 of them are foodblogs. My favorite since the very beginning is "The Girl Who Ate Everything" (http://roboppy.net/food/about.html). Even just looking at food makes me hungry, and there's nothing better than eating when you're hungry.
I started reading about food, watching food shows, and just... thinking about food. It really is a whole world of it's own, with intricacies that only the best can actually notice. I want to work my way up-- maybe eventually I'll be able to notice when there's too much, say, saffron in my, say, amuse bouche.
I also love traveling, and the best part for me is being able to sample random foods I've never even imagined. Not to say that the food around Middletown isn't up to snuff! (I'm sure I'll write about college food a bit too...) I plan to travel a lot in the next six months, and so I figured this is the perfect opportunity to start my own blog. What could be better than writing about all the food I eat all around the world?
I created this blog to chronicle the foods I am lucky enough to nibble, taste, explore, devour around the world during my travels. Food is universal- everyone eats it. But food is also personal- each culture has its specialties, each person has his favorite. Not to mention that each bite is different. But there really is nothing better than sitting down to a table, and not being able to imagine wanting to be anywhere else. So here's to food- embracing its ability to bring people together, no matter where they're from.
